Radical HSR Challenge Cup East Series

- Fresh off of successful Sebring HSR testing and looking to build on the increasing worldwide popularity of Radicals unique single marquee racing concept, Radical East USA proposes a new Spec series sanctioned by HSR with emphasis on cost effective competitive racing for gentleman drivers utilizing the New Radical SR3 RS. The RS is built to be a forgiving, fun to drive sports racer with the driver piloting an open cockpit Lemans prototype style race car. The Driver sits surrounded by a carbon steel space frame chassis forming an integral safety cell featuring an aluminum honeycomb front crash structure complying with FIA Production Sports Car Crash Test. Power comes from the reliable 1340cc double overhead cam 4 cylinder Powertec Suzuki K8 “Busa” dry sump engine with extended refresh schedule and sealed ECU, delivering 210bhp / 130 ft lbs through a 6 speed manual sequential transmission and a Quaiffe limited slip gear drive system. The two seater cockpit, ideal for driver training. Four pot Radical calipers with vented discs on each corner endear the SR3 RS with awesome stopping power. The uncanny grip is provided by the high down force Aero Pak working with Bespoke Dunlop slick tires. Weight is 1320#.
- A true Spec series run in conjunction with HSR in which the driver is the lone determining factor, so no additional car modifications are permitted.
- Initial plans call for 2011 preliminary races sanctioned by HSR (proposed) at major HSR race meetings beginning Feb 2011. First Race Feb 10-13th 2011 at PBIR, 2nd race Homestead Miami March 24-27th, 3rd race April 28-May 1st “The Mitty” @ Road Atlanta.
- Racers will compete in both Sprint & Endurance racing formats.
- Control Tires and series scrutineer to minimize cost and ensure equal competition
- 2 races plus practice & qualifying per weekend. Additional points for fastest lap & pole position
- Driver training programs and top quality hospitality for entrants guests and sponsors
- Races to be run on legendary tracks such as Daytona, Sebring, Road America, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta and other premier venues.
- All Spec series cars (Supersport Class) are exclusively supplied & race prepped by Radical East USA and/or Radical Motorsports New Jersey. “Works Team” Factory Arrive & Race programs featuring full driver support, maintenance, driver coaching, vehicle transportation & trackside hospitality will be available for those seeking a full service experience. Competitors can also choose to run their own car or designate a prep shop of their choice so long as cars are presented at race meetings in full accordance with series technical regulations. Cars will be checked by eligibility Scrutineer for compliance. Rule infractions will not be tolerated & will render the competitor liable to penalties.
- First (12) HSR founding series participants receive a $12,000 factory cash rebate off price of Spec series 1340cc car.
- Early SR3 Radicals are grandfathered in and invited to join in a “B” class, must have sealed POWERTEC 1300cc motor & ECU to comply. Non complying engines can be refreshed by Powertec or we can supply a NEW 1300 or 1340cc engine & ECU for series compliance.
